In music theory, the progression from one key to the next is known as the "Circle of Fifths".

I often look to mathematics for inspiration for new shapes.
In math there is a field of study for knots, and this simple shape is known as a "trefoil knot".

The title comes from the popular Irish drink.

The inspiration for the interlocked mobius ribbons came from a mathematical web site.

The thin "pinstripes" come from thin pieces of maple veneer between the segments of the darker Zircote.
The shape of this mobius ribbon reminds me of waves of water rolling onto the beach, and then the water slips
back into the ocean.
